Siglent function generator dead channel A
« on: October 23, 2022, 08:54:41 pm »
I bought this Siglent 1032x function generator in Feb and now one of the channels, A, is non functional.  I recall there was a thread where someone had the same problem and a good recommended fix was offered.  Of course, now I can't find it.  I believe I over taxed the channel and fried something and that's why it's not working.  Since then I've implemented a strict circuit protection policy to avoid this in the future.  But the problem is still there.  I would rather not send it back to Siglent if I can avoid it.  So, if anyone knows of a thread where this problem has been addressed, or knows how to fix the problem themselves, I would greatly appreciate any help.  Best regards.

Any idea what you mean by over taxed?  Driving any decent sig gen into a dead short it should be able to survive.
Probably the output opamp or possibly some output protection was damaged.
Take the thing apart, look for any visual burns, measure the channel A output resistor compared to channel B. Measure the signal from the output back if you can with an oscilloscope.
