It just so happened that when you need a single button remote to work flawlessly the darn thing plays up !

So with a bunch of guests having arrived to bust some clay birds our trap machine 433MHz keyfob remote decided it was time to protest about the many 1000's of presses it had over several years previous. Needs a new battery I thought..... and lucky I have another for a substitute and preprogrammed into the receiver.
So after getting more 27A's while out this morning and installing one the darn thing still wasn't quite right.

However tactile switches being a mechanical device which do fail in time, concern filled my mind until finding the pack of them brought many years ago.

This will be easy I thought.......
Well I had what seemed like apart from color an exact replacement however after removing the old from its PCB only to find it was TH and not SMD like the new one I had.......darn !
However a few minutes customisation with small pliers had its gullwing leads reformed to represent TH and just long enough to get good soldering to from the bottom side.

again !
Now any intermittency is gone and it's working again like new.
