SMD Marking PAYI
« on: January 18, 2024, 08:45:25 pm »
Hello,
I have an smd component with 5pin but I found in two different datasheet of the same company (Texas Instruments) this marking "PAYI"on two different part numbers. I can't understand which part numbe is the right. Also at the internet I found pictures with this marking at both part numbers. The only difference that I found is that some letters have below or under horizontal bars. Does the bars mean something?

2016 has PAAI code and 2019 has PAYI code as seen from first datasheet. Second dataseet shows codes only for 2019 and 2029.

What is the right part number you think?

I think the bars denote a date code.

Your datasheet shows PAYI for TPS2819QDBVRQ1 and PAYQ for TPS2829QDBVRQ1. However, TI's lookup page produces confusing results.

https://www.ti.com/packaging/en/docs/partlookup.tsp?partmarking=payq
https://www.ti.com/packaging/en/docs/partlookup.tsp?partmarking=payi
https://www.ti.com/packaging/en/docs/partlookup.tsp?partmarking=paai

I think you should choose TPS2819 if your circuit requires Vdd on pin #1, or TPS2829 if pin #1 is NC.
