smps ic identification
« on: May 11, 2018, 12:45:56 pm »
Hello All,
New to this site, been a tv for nearly 45 years. My cooker hob died and I'm stuck, it contains a switch mode psu. The controller is a dual 8 pin, pins 5,6,7 and 8 are deck. Pin 1 is fb, 2 has a resistor down to deck, 3 missing and 4 is to the transformer primary. The missing pin rang a bell (fsd200), but that has pin 7 missing.
Any suggestions please, thank you.

The last cooker thingie I repaired had a  VIPER chip (12 or 20, i forget) : http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/datasheet/3a/e3/ed/c9/0d/16/44/da/CD00084384.pdf/files/CD00084384.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.CD00084384.pdf

See if yours has same pinout , maybe it's in the VIPER family or a clone.

anyways, it was producing 18v for a fan and from there a 5v linear regulator was used for electronics and an 8v linear regulator was used for comparators and opamps

the chip and something else was shot and i couldn't be bothered with it so i repurposed a switching psu from an inkjet printer that was producing 34v  and used a 33063 regulator to produce 18v and fixed it.

Sounds like a Power Integrations LinkSwitch, https://www.power.com/sites/default/files/product-docs/linkcv_family_datasheet.pdf
The FB accepts AC divided from a winding rather that a DC error signal.
But pin 2 is for a VCC ByPass capacitor.
