Title: Soldering station failed
Post by: hpibmx on July 30, 2020, 07:44:49 am
Hi,
Guys recently my soldering station stopped working altering removing it and plugging it in a deferent station.
Any idea how I can check this?
I don’t have any other machine to test it, it turns on my station but the temperature won’t rise at all it’s just 000, and when I unplug it my station detect it. But putting back in recognize but no rise in temperature.
Appreciate it if you have any ideas about this too.
It’s Gordak 952 Soldering Station

Your pictures show an incomplete iron! Maybe if you re-assembled it with a soldering tip installed it might work better.

Maby heating element is burned out. Usually it´s two resistors you can measure on the 5-pin (?) connector.
One is thermocouple and one is heating element. Heating element is around 10 Ohms or so in that range.

Did you open the handle and aviation connector and look for breaks?  That's what broke on mine.  The wires are very thin for 60 watts IMO.
