Sony A7R II repair
« on: March 15, 2019, 09:45:05 am »
Two days ago I bought a Sony A7R II from the dutch equivalent of ebay knowing it had a broken lcd.
The evf still works but I'd like to fix the main screen. The main lcd shows a black screen, the backlight works but the data feed looks like it doesn't. The seller told me that he spilled drinking water over it.
I have taken the screen apart and found that the cables seem fine, no corrosion or anything. The lcd driver board looks fine too, no blown capacitors or cracked traces, there was what seemed like a little bit of corrosion on the outside of the board. Now I'm wondering what the issue is, could it be due to the lcd display itself, something inside the camera body or the lcd driver board. Remember, the evf works fine, it displays everything without problems.

Thanks  ;)
