Thank you for advise. Over the weekend I had some time, and continue troubleshooting: attached some wires and I was able to get voltage readings from following TPs: CN201 (board FL-114 page 4-79) pin 1 - OV pin 5 - 5V OK pin 7&8 - 3.3V OK I also checked voltage on the IC204: pin 16 VCC - 3.3V OK And PIN 4 on CN203 also has 3.3V Maybe something wrong with IC204 reset circuit |

I am not sure if I can consider this a fix, but DVD player is working now. I purchased another DVP-9000ES with mechanical issues, trashed cover, and a partially damaged front panel. The power supply controller was working, so replacing Fl-114 board fixed my DVD player! ;D Now I have a weird issue with the remote when the front panel is installed back on DVD player, it looks like it's blocking the IR sensor, and I can't control the player. IR diode is mounted on the PCB, and the front cover has a cutout specially designed for that IR "eye" |

Found the issue with IR not working when the front panel installed on the DVD player. There is a small flex cable that connects to the CN203 from the front panel Play, Stop, Pause etc. Unfortunately, there is no information about this board other than its name Switch Block Control and part number 1-476-236-11 If the front panel buttons are not connected, DVD player works with the remote... Looks like something is shorting VDC on that board. Waiting for some spare DVD player parts hopefully will be able to replace the front buttons. |
