Title: [Solved] Sony ST-SB920 Shipping damage?
Post by: spilihps on September 27, 2017, 05:59:44 pm
Hello!
So i bought an nice tuner from a local auction site.

It arrived with some shipping damage, some metal slightly out of "shape" on the front panel.
It was cheap so i kept it. However, it does not light the display when turned on.
The seller says, and also the Pictures show it turned on. But i only get a relay-click from the fm tuner part when turning it on.
Also It does respond to the buttons to change A-B antenna.

Im not sure if the VFD broke in the shipping or if its something more?

Any ideas on were to begin on a machine like this?

Update:

So i managed to find a badly cracked solder-joint to one of the filament traces on the display board. Everything works now!
