Title: Sony STR-DA3300ES AV receiver repair
Post by: android on October 15, 2016, 11:42:08 am
I'm having a go at repairing this AV receiver for a friend. So far I've replaced a pair of blown darlington transistors (Sanken MN2488 & MP1620) on the surround right channel, but have today found a couple of 100 \$\Omega\$ resistors are bad too on that channel (one is slightly off spec, and the other is open circuit).

Easy...except that the service manual (http://sportsbil.com/sony/STR/STR-D/STR-DA3300ES_DG1100_v1.2.pdf) says that these resistors should be "nonflammable" for safety reasons - but I can't seem to find any from RS or Element14 etc that are marked "nonflammable".

Is there another keyword or attribute that I should be looking for? (Or should I just replace them with 1/2W standard resistors :) )

Try fusible resistors.
