[Solved] Sony XBR IC ID
« on: May 02, 2022, 03:19:02 pm »
Trying to repair a common problem; Sony XBR XXX930D no power.

Sony replaced the power board once. Problem reappeared a few months later. All indications are this IC is the culprit, and this replacement board shows signs of this IC having been replaced along with the installation of a 72K resistor between pin 8 and the cap to the right. I have removed the resistor to ID the chip.

But no combination of the codes on the chip are returning a hit. Pretty sure it is a LDO DC buck converter but no schematic or parts list in the service manual. Troubleshooting just says replace the board.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff

I couldn't find anything in TI's part marking database:

https://www.ti.com/packaging/docs/partlookup.tsp

Yeah, neither could I, but several other units have a TI TPS54334, which I now believe is the same or equivalent part. Have one on order.

Thanks.
Jeff
