SOT 8pin pwm ic
« on: February 04, 2019, 05:32:13 am »
Long shot, but anybody recognise this code: 80YL5E5EU? Used in a Oreva 30W LED lamp ballast. Pinout is unlike 384x, in that output is at 5, Vcc at 6. There seem to be no external cap for setting frequency. The power mosfet receives NO drive, but the ic has only uA of start-up current, and picks up 2.06mA at 15.6V, which holds down to 7.8V. Pin 1 goes active after start-up, and holds a reference(?) voltage of 2.673V. No pin shows any pulse activity, but possible some shutdown is active. Google and data search engines return nothing.
Thanks for any link.

Should be this:

Sorry, couldn't find a link to datasheet on manufacturer's website, it does look like they may send (free?) samples though.

Thank you, sir. The pinout and measurable parameters fit exactly.
I have discovered the problem: a separate 431 based mains overvoltage circuit was erratic, and now taken out altogether. The driver works perfectly without.
A nicely made 30W LED lamp got a new lease of life!
