Update 2020-05-15 (tz America/Chicago): I'm now pretty confident that this came from a Soundcraft Si1-Si3. I still haven't found a schematic or service manual yet, so if anybody has one, drop me a line!

Hi all, here's a super niche question.

I have a PCB that came from a Soundcraft mixing console. Silkscreen says "MHxD 12 WAY FADER BOARD". Can anyone point me towards the schematic/service manual, or does anyone know what console this came out of so I can search myself?

I have service materials for MH2-MH4, but schematics don't seem to match. My mystery board has 12 motorized faders, 6 L293D Half-H Drivers, and 3 dsPIC30F5015 MCUs.

I bought the board from a guy a few years ago. I don't remember what it came out of, but I was told that Soundcraft had so many problems with that line of consoles that they gave super deals on different models just to get the damn things off the streets. So I'm not surprised it's not easy to find any info, but it's bordering on nigh-impossible, making me think it's more likely that I'm just not searching for the right model number.

Thanks!

Soundcraft MH series are analog consoles only, the name on the pcb may point to
a digital console made around the same era.
I'd guess the marketing/branding department changed the name before launching.
Likely the not so great SI1, SI2, SI3.
12 faders suggest the output section of one of those.

well that counts out the MH range, only problem with them was lifting the bloody things, plus i don't remember them having flying faders. My quess would either  be the lx328 :palm: or the original si1

Yeah, I think y'all nailed it with Si1-Si3. I haven't found schematics for any of those yet, but the pictures I'm seeing have colorful fader slots, which makes sense given the the (I assume) RGB LEDs on the fader side parallel to the PCB.

328 was a different construction if I remember right, the only flying-faders analog Soundcraft was the Ghost, also not so great, but older than this fader board is.
MH's were/are decent consoles but with all larger Soundcraft's, better use dual well ventilated psu's or temperatures will soar.
Also the weight is sensible compared to series-five and its predecessor Europa consoles, aaah the memories...
Now happy with my VI-1000 series.

Fader-Glow is the official term.

Oooohhhh, fancy....

You wouldn't happen to have schematics or a service manual handy, would you? I'll keep searching but no dice yet.

Nope, what are you planning to do with this module?

I'm hoping to turn it into a control surface/USB MIDI controller. My original plan when I bought it was just to harvest the motorized faders and design my own board with them, but the more closely I examined it the more I realized how much circuitry was actually on the board.

So now my ideal scenario is to reprogram the dsPICs (The programming pins are accessible in its current form) to interface with a Teensy or something. We'll see how far I manage to get, but that's my current goal.  :D
