Stove controls not responsive
« on: September 06, 2021, 09:47:14 pm »
Sorry if this is too far afield, topic-wise.

My mom’s stove has membrane buttons for setting the oven temp, and the up button has gradually become less and less responsive.

Trying to raise the temperature is a matter of searching for the sweet spot, which is often well outside the marked button location. Usually up and to the right.

Is there any way to fix this sort of problem, or is it a matter of having to replace the whole appliance?

Some appliance manfacturers sell replacement keypads. The membrane keypad can get dirt inside, or just wear out.
Need a make and model number to really give advice.
