Stuck yet again on a SMT part.....help!!!
« on: December 27, 2024, 03:52:01 pm »
Hi all,

Need your help on what the part number of attached pic could be? The marking reads to me as ANW.
There is another exact part on the same PCB and it measures as a NPN BJT.....for the life of me, I cannot find a BJT marked as ANW  :-//.
Most of the BJT SOT23's, I am familiar with, have the right pin as the Emitter, but on the working one, it shows up as the Base.
Trust you guys to get me out of this one........

Is there silk screen that says it’s a transistor?
Could also be a double diode…
Edit: I found MAX810 via https://www.google.com/search?q=sot23+ANW&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=de-de&client=safari

Ah, yes.....the silkscreen says its Q12.....other dual diodes are indeed marked with a "D" prefix.

It may be a linear voltage regulator. I think it requires a bit of research of the surroundings.

Unlikely, “Q“ is strong evidence for a transistor

Also the other Q's with the same part number, read on a DMM, as a BJT.

ah yes. my bad, missed that and/or confused with "U".

still, would make sense to investigate the surroundings. might be a generic part, but then at least it has to be determined if it's a fet or bjt.

@fzabkar .....you could be right....what is confusing the hell out of me is that another exact part on the same PCB, measures as a NPN BJT  :palm:
Time to hot air it off I guess, and put it on a component tester as I was making in-situ measurements.
