TASCAM MK3 tape deck repair questions
« on: December 13, 2019, 04:48:10 pm »
Hello

I have a TASCAM MK3 tape deck I am trying to repair.  I cannot find the fuses.  If you look at the attached schematic the 240V models have actual glass fuses.
The US/CANADA model has what is called WB01, WB02, and WB03 in place of the fuses.

The question is what is WB01,WB02 and WB03?  Are they spark gaps or something?  Did they really replace the fuses with spark gaps in the 120V models?

I thought about that but why would they remove the fuses?

Possibly because the fuse inside the transformer is sufficient for operation at 100 to 120 VAC.
