TEAC DV-R301 laser

Hey Guys,

I have been given a TEAC DV-R301 DVD player (I think it's also a hard drive, but can't find any information anywhere).

It will play CDs, but not DVDs. Everywhere I have searched has said that they use a laser that uses 2 different frequencies.

Anyway, I have cleaned the laser lens and it will still not play DVDs. I suspect the laser for the DVD may be faulty, but would like to try and test it or adjust it if possible before I try and buy one.

Does anyone know if this is possible?
