Tektronix TDS5032B Diagnostic Failure
« on: February 24, 2023, 03:50:22 pm »
I purchased a Tektronix TDS5032B on eBay that was not working.   I was able to repair it by re-capping the motherboard, replacing the power supply and replacing the memory.  However, when the TekScope.exe application launches, I receive a diagnostic failure on one test.  The test is called LineTrig under the HITL (Hardware In The Loop) area.  The result of the test is code 445.

I haven't been able to find a lot of information about this error.  From what I understand, the line trigger would typically be associated with a TV or video signal.

Any help in tracking down information about this error or where I might begin to think about repairing this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Power line trigger, like 50hz or 60hz
Maybe related to changing psu
Was there a loose wire pickup taped to the incoming live line

Line trigger input comes directly from the power supply.  It is the frequency of the input AC.  60 Hz for north America.  Look at the power supply it looks like a common ATX supply but it has a couple of non-standard connectors.  I would start there.  I don't think I've seen the ACQ board cause line trigger failures.
