Tectronix 2213a no trace
« on: November 27, 2021, 07:22:02 pm »
Hi I have a tectronix 2213a which released the magic smoke some years ago I tried fixing it but gave up and shelved it.
I've recently started on it again, so it would switch on with I wide dot on the crt with no horizontal sweep and no vertical gain. I've recently found a 4.7 ohms resister open circuit in the power distribution setup and also had a 1ohm resistance to ground which I traced back to a shorted cap so I replaced both of them but now it's worse. Any ideas greatly welcome.

I think many scopes of that ilk run on 43 Volts from a switching power supply.  If yours does, did you measure it?

The power supplies are a common place for failures.
