Simple Electronic Counter on Row Machine
« on: January 29, 2022, 09:49:31 pm »
I own a rowing machine.

It works great. However, there is a simple digital computer on it.

It counts the number of strokes you do. A very simple counter.

However, every so often the screen with freeze. The whole display will go to 8888. If you try to press any buttons. Nothing happens. You have to physically take out its single AA battery to reset it.

Now I have the opportunity to buy an exact replica computer. Same model and same hardware revision number. It costs €100 to replace.

Am I wasting my money here, do you think the new one might be affected by the same problem? Could there be some "wonky" signal coming from the sensor itself which is the real problem? Anyone care to speculate?
