Tek DPO 5104B Disk Boot Failure
« on: December 28, 2023, 03:43:13 am »
Hi,

I got myself a tek scope from a factory that is closing down. The instrument turn on with a Disk Boot Failure. Taking out the solid state hard disk and attaching it to my PC, the hard disk is not detected at all by my pc. So its a totally dead SSD. I am yet to see any hard disk image for this scope. Based on the windows sticker at the back, its a windows 7 ultimate emb 32/64. If i am to install a fresh installation of win 7, then install all the drivers and firmware from the tek website for the model, would it work? or is there any user with a working hardisk that can provide me their hard disk image?

Thank You

it has been upgraded to win7,  not by default when purchased, normally it's win 2k if i recall  or w98

dont burn steps, grab everything here, theses where provided by TEK

https://xdevs.com/docs/Tektronix/TDS5000B/

please do note this is a copy of the genuine site who ask registration by Xdev's, they have the same content, be sure you have a good cd-rom in the scope

unless you have nvram battery failure  or other problem,  even the computer cmos battery could have died and changed some of the motherboard settings ..

Not sure if this is applicable here, as TDS5104B, is an older scope. Mine is DPO 5104B, which seems like a whole generation newer.
