Tektronix 2201 Repair - Service Manual?? - No info on the web at all!!!

Hey Guys,

I have bought a faulty Tek 2201 on eBay to have a play with and hopefully get it to work. I have searched probably the whole web, but have not found any useful information about this model. All the rest of the 22xx series seems to be talked about with service manuals available free, however, there is almost no information at all about the 2201.

Does anyone have a service manual please? I would really appreciate it!

I will have a look at it without the service manual as I might be able to fix it anyway, but I am sure that sooner or later I will get to the point when a reference will be necessary. Definitely for the calibration, if nothing else.

Yes, I saw some on ebay but hoped to avoid having to buy. It's just a mini project and the scope itself only cost me £20 so buying a service manual would double that price . +I find it hard to believe that with all the service manuals out there there is not a free one for download.   ...Internet is a weird thing...

You could try asking Tektronix, they also make some manuals available on their website - you can register for free (but might have to fend off a sales call).

Thank you very much Oldway!!! I have actually just managed to fix it. It was a Power supply fault and I have made a troubleshooting/repair video and will post link to it as soon as I manage to get it up on Youtube.

This will help as the voltage readings were on a higher side (higher than I'm comfortable with) and the schematic shows the adjustment pot, so will try that.

However, now that I fixed it, I will need the service manual for calibration as that is definitely not something I would attempt without a SM.

I think I had a look there too. You don't need to register, but there is no service manual for this scope. They did not have digital copies back then I don't think.
