https://w140.com/tekwiki/wiki/   has the service manual.  That's a good site for all Tektronix info.

But to answer your question, I downloaded the 2430A manual and found the battery listed in the manual as

"3.6-volt, 1.6-Amp Hour, Lithium Thionyl Chloride; Manufacturer
EAGLE PICHER, Type L TC16P/P, TEK Part Number 146-0062-00"

The schematic seems to indicate it backs up U664 on the processor board which is a 32768 x 8 SRAM.

Late models use two of Dallas DS1230AB-120.

The late models use the same printed circuit board, but the battery and backup circuitry are removed, and the Dallas nvSRAMs replaced the original static RAMs.  The low battery detection circuit was replaced with a fixed divider so they did not even have to change the firmware.

In theory a late model can be rebuilt to the early configuration with SRAMs and a battery, which is what I considered doing to my 2440 if I was unable to find replacements for the nvSRAMs.

If I initiated a post soliciting answers, and then complained a mere 7 hours later that nobody had yet responded, and then three different people provided answers, I would at least acknowledge their efforts and say thank you.  A "TIA" in your original post just doesn't cut it.  But hey, maybe that's just me.

No, the 2400 CRTs are different.  I think you can swap in a 2445/2465 CRT with some extra work if you need to.  I wouldn't start worrying about all that until you have it in your paws.
A 3.5 digit 4.5 digit 5 digit 5.5 digit 6.5 digit 7.5 digit DMM is good enough for most people.
