Tektronix 2445B Screen fault.

(1/1)

ekremc:
Hi all,

My 2445B screen bottom side many ? ? ? ? ? ? ? sign.
How solve this problem.

Thx all

Ground_Loop:
My 2467B did that when it lost its calibration.

807:
Yep. It means it needs to be calibrated. When the internal jumper is set to calibration setting the question marks will change to dots.

Did you get any error codes as the scope booted up?

tggzzz:
Execute the self tests as described in the manual, and see the results.

When the battery inside the "non-volatile" RAM is exhausted, the calibration constants are lost. The remedy is to replace the RAM and recalibrate. Note that the "non-volatile" RAM stopped being manufactured a long time ago, so any "new" devices on fleabay will probably have a nearly depleted battery.

Workarounds are discussed elsewhere in this forum, and on the tekscopes groups.io forum.

Are there 2 types of A5 boards on the 2445B like there are with other 2445/2465 variants? The older through-hole board having a separate battery, while the newer SMD board had the Dallas chip with inbuilt battery?
