I received a 465 that didn’t power on and found the Tantalum Cap in the HV section was shorted, I replaced and it now powers ON. While opened up I replaced all the electrolytic caps except the ones that are matched. I cleaned all switches and contact per some videos ie seen on how too do it properly, I used MG Alcohol so no residue would be left behind. The scope shows a nice crisp Dot and I can move fully vertical and horizontal with the controls. Im NOT seeing any Horizontal Sweep, I do see Vertical if I hook a probe up and touch the end with my finger. As I'm just learning electronics as a retirement hobby I’m no tech but willing to listen and learn. I see correct voltages on all the Test Points and was shocked actually how almost dead on they are. I was told elsewhere to check Q1224 for signal. Now I checked it for voltage and I’m seeing:
C 3.134Vdc
B nothing no signal on digital scope -2.20mV
E -0.674 vdc
If I hook my Rigol DS1104Z to the center Base I’m not seeing anything, assuming it will pick up the Cigna in Auto?
I did find by mistake the A trigger switched wired wrong I believe as I was seeing 55vdc on the black wire coming off. I’ve attached a picture of what it looks like now with another yellow arrow showing where it was attached. I’m wondering if this black was a ground and feeding 55vdc if it could have caused this Horizontal Sweep issue? Possible it took something out?
I’m at your Mercy and looking for advice and where to start?
