That looks promising to me - you have a sweep so the trigger circuit is at least partly working, as is the horizontal sweep generator and amplifier.

I'd certainly take it on!   You should get hold of the service manual (either QService or Artek Manuals), and also take a look at:

https://vintagetek.org/troubleshooting-your-oscilloscope/

Which was originally written for valve (tube) based 'scopes, but most of what it has to say is highly relevant to mostly solid-state 'scopes like the 468.  The 468 is of course complicated somewhat by its digital side, but you can get the analog side working first and then look at the digital stuff.

Have you tried setting up your trigger and horizontal time base correctly?

Thanks a lot.

If you mention setting up knobs at front panel. Yes, i tried different positions.

I will try my best to bring it back to live.

I had a very similar problem on my Tek 475 oscilloscope. When pressing beam find the trace would show but advancing the intensity and moving all the horizontal and vertical controls didn't work. Even disconnecting all the horizontal and vertical deflection pins would now show a trace except for pressing the beam find button.

Turns out all that went bad was one transistor on the input of the external Z-axis input shorted.

My first step in your situation would be to trouble shoot the Z-axis amplifier.

If the Z-axis amplifier is working, try looking at the trigger board. My 475 gets it's blanking signal from the trigger board.

Not sure if the 468 and 475 work similarly enough that this advice is useful, but they're close matching so I hope they work in similar ways.
Hehe, spooked my friends with an exploding electrolytic capacitor the other day 😁.
