Title: Tektronix DPO3034 rotary encoders
Post by: dzseki on March 22, 2019, 02:58:47 pm
Can anybody tell off-hand what type of rotary encoder is needed in a Tektronix DPO3034 scope? I am going to replace the multifunction and vertical position encoders, I believe they are the same. It would be nice if I would not have to leave the scope gutted until the new encoders are arriving.
This scope is at my work, and was rendered to be uneconomical to repair officially (got a 3000€ quote for it!!!), and I figured it might worth a try to replace those few encoders on an otherwise functioning scope...
Thanks!

can you get some numbers on them ?? by slightly dismantling the front panel vs the pcb ??

I'll look at it on monday. I was just hoping that others probably did similar repair on this particular model family so they would know a suitable replacement.

Appears to be a common problem, see....

The replacement encoder was an Alps EC12E24104A6 available from Farnell:
