I was not able to download unfortunately. I did manage to get a working install, but it is with an old version of TekScope. I am still working on getting a newer version running. The big secret was that there was another folder in the registry that contained the information about the model of the scope. I found this by using "Process Monitor" to record all registry accesses by the installer, then filtering out all of the successful accesses. This narrowed it down to like 10,000 accesses, which I saved as a CSV file. I searched the CSV file for "Tek" and found it that way. I added this inside "OEM system information.zip". The file "TekScope TDS5000 Identifier.reg" installs the registry keys. Here is what I currently have working: 1. Install the standard Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1. 2. Install the Windows 7 convenience rollup update. 2a. Download from Microsoft: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB3125574 2b. This is a very lengthy install without many progress updates. 2c. Eventually when you click restart, it will then go through the normal windows update process. 3. "DPO5054 Drivers.zip" 3a. Unzip the file. 3b. Open Device Manager and manually update the 3 unknown devices, browsing to the unzipped folder. 4. "OEM system information.zip" 4a. Unzip the file. 4b. Copy oemlogo.bmp into C:\Windows\System32\ 4c. Open "OEM System Properties.reg". This adds the OEM information to Windows System Properties. 4d. Open "TekScope TDS5000 Identifier.reg". This adds the identifier to the registry needed by the Tektronix installer. 5. Go to Windows Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features on or off. 5a. Navigate to: Message Queue (MSMQ) Server / Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) Server Core / MSMQ Triggers 5b. Tick the checkbox for MSMQ triggers and click OK. Windows will install the feature. 5c. This fixes an error message about "mqrt.dll". 6. Manually copy the NI Device DLL files from NI Device/x64/ into C:/Windows/System32. 6a. This is for TekScope software to run, otherwise it will get stuck at the splash screen. 7. Open "DPO_MSO5000_V6.1.3_0.exe". 7a. This installer will restart a couple of times and occasionally has OK buttons to click. 7b. When it is done, TekScope will run automatically. |

Thank you, I was able to get the file downloaded and I am seeing the drivers and things inside. I see there is an actual installer for "NI Device"; this may be the better way than the raw files that I attached for that. I installed 6.1.3 directly. It was a deployment package. I am still not able to install the latest software on top of this, which is V10.8.3: https://www.tek.com/en/support/software/firmware/deployment-package-dpo5000-mso5000-dpo5000b-mso5000b-dpo7000c-dpo70000c This does work to upgrade the cloned hard drive though. So there is still something that the newer ones are looking for. |
