Hi,

Sometime ago I noticed this eBay Item. I found it intriging because applicable Instruments were not specified and I have a TLA7012 (Gen2 MB) with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit as OS and a 500 GB HDD. Came across another TLA7012. Also a Gen2 MB. This time with Windows XP as OS and a 160 GB HDD. BIOS Chip Versions of both TLA's were identical.

In the Instructions for that eBay Disk is stated: " Restoring the Operating System Using the OS Restore DVD's; Step 10 - Install the instrument product software " (Oscilloscope Application Software).

Tektronix used in the beginning with Windows based Instruments Hard Disk Images followed by installing Application Software. Later they use the words Restore Media and now Recovery Media. All followed by Application/Product Software installs as I see it. With all this you have a clean install.

not arguing with anyone BUT

If the @op start anew, there is tons of ways to get Win 7 sp1 iso's,    even i  can find them in a minute ... do a full re-install   etc ...   add the missing drivers ...

in the end  if tekscope does not start,  i still have doubts on the internal interfacing .... if everything is okay.    Tekscope if i recall is very picky. if it crash, it still means something is not right

I wanted to add a note that this is also a very useful resource for this scope:

https://github.com/exit-failure/tds7000

The option code tool here can decode your existing codes but not encode it back correctly.  If you spend some time debugging, it is possible to get the encoding to work without any secret codes or anything.  Just wanting to put people on the right path with this because I felt pretty hopeless for a while about getting the 16-channel digital input working.

Hi again,

" Sometime ago I noticed this eBay Item. I found it intriging because applicable Instruments were not specified. "

Must correct my conclusions. Found another Picture of this "intriging" 020-3110-00 Recovery Set. Two DVD's and indeed a list of applicable Instruments.
