Tektronix RM502A Scope Repair
« on: August 30, 2020, 02:26:59 pm »
Hi

I have this Tek RM502A scope that has a single sweep problem.
When set to do single sweep....as soon as the scope triggers the ready led goes off, the actual waveform displays for a split second and disappears.
So when single sweep is reset led comes on (ready for sweep) then as soon as its triggered the led goes off and the waveform is displayed for a split second then disappear.

Does some of you  guys maybe know what could cause this?
PS: Normal sweep mode seems to work fine

Thanks

Richard

It's totally normal.  Single sweep is just that - the trace triggers and waits.  So unless your CRT has infinite persistence, it is to be expected that it will fade out quickly.

You would want a storage scope to get the trace to be displated after the spot is cut off.

Yes just discovered that :-DD
Feel Like an idiot

I have the 468 storage scope that can do storage.
Apparently that single sweep of the 502 is used with a camera |O

But thank you. It is good to know that it works the way it is suppose to

Thank you Vince For the info :-+
