Tektronix TDS5054-NV-AV - Button repair (broken shaft)
« on: August 14, 2021, 05:12:50 pm »
Hello All,

The TDS5054 NV-AV scope I recently purchased off ebay came with a broken "LEVEL" button (broken shaft). The service manual for 5000 series does not list this individual part unfortunately.
I am on the lookout for this part number, or if the price is right, purchase a replacement keypad (one that is 4 channel with touch screen option).

The other alternative I thought was to remove the key pad, shave the remaining piece of the shaft to level it and 3D print a shaft made of ABS plastic of PLA and glue it to the base of the button/remaining shaft so I can add a button to it. This push button works though and can be turned in both directions if I use pliers, but it's not ideal.

Does anyone have experience with this kind of button repair and can tell me if what I thought above would work?

Thanks!
