Tek VM6000 firmware
Hi guys,  hope you have a nice day

I just bid on a VM6000 kit from Ebay, Unfortunately the seller removed the hard drives from both. The TDS7254B I currently have is still able to use the firmware from the official website. But this model is not, I can not find any any info about it. can i ask can you share its program file? Thank you very much.
Sincerely, Jing Feng

uploaded to mega. :-+
https://mega.nz/fm/3f5HVYrS
let us know when the download is complete and i will remove the mega link.

When I run it on VM(Virtual Machine), I get an error message “non-Tektronix, Inc. system”, so I think it is probably a OEM recovery disk.

Do you want to convert VM6000 to DPO?
uploaded images is probably for VM6000.
I would have to tweak something, but I don't know.

Hi Squadchanel.

Im downloading the file. So you said it can be convert to DPO Model? I'm also confused because the bios of this VM6000 also says it belongs to the DPO7k series.

yes, the VM series is basically a rebadged scope from that era.
hardware can be considered the same as the scope model. but I don't know how to hack it either.

VM6000=DPO7000
VM5000=TDS5000

In the VM6000 folder in xdevs/docs, there are a number of photos that appear to be modifications to DPO.
I don't know if this is the result of the modifications performed, but there maybe an article about it somewhere.

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repair/tektronix-tds5054b-record-length/msg5606813/#msg5606813

He is running TDS5000 software on VM5000.
after recovery, maybe able to modding it by uninstalling VM6000 software and installing DPO7000 software.

Hi guys,

I have been scouring the internet for days now but I still can’t find any software that can run on it. Does anyone have a picture of the software that came with this model when it shipped?I can't find any information on the internet about this model. Although in Bios the product code is DPO7000/DSA7000,... But when I download the software for this DPO 7000 series, it shows an error message that the hardware is not compatible. The restore disk image that Squadchanel sent me won't boot, when I restore it, the windows xp sp2 setup screen appears, and then after about 10 seconds it crashes. Does anyone have some ideas? Many thanks

Thank you so much bro.

I have another problem, DPO software is not working properly, do you have this setup file? Or where can I get it. It seems to be a bug of DPO software

hi sprit.
image did not work?
Under what conditions did it crash? It is possible that it would have worked if you had just waited patiently.

Hi iAleks, have a nice day.

I will check it. about the configuration, my machine is running 2Gb ram, with 16Gb SSD, I don't know how much capacity the backup you sent me after unzipping is, but when I restore it with Macrium Reflect, my 16GB hard drive only has 200MB free space, is that the reason? I currently don't have a hard drive with higher capacity, I want to ask if 16Gb is enough or is it because I restored it wrongly?
Thank you very much.
Sincerely, Feng

Hi Squadchanel, have a nice day

I don't know what the problem is, but after trying backup 2, 3 times but it always BSOD after I press "Windows XP installation option". I tried iAlek backup and Windows booted normally. I tried with 2 versions of Acronis 2014 and 2021 but still the same thing happened.
btw thank you very much anyway

My hdd image take 11Gb after recovery, but tekscope program after start create files (here C:\TekScope\wfmObj, i delete this files from hdd image for decrease image size) which occupy ~10Gb, i think you need try larger size SSD.

Code: [Select]
 Содержимое папки G:\TekScope\wfmObj

ialeks is right, the HDD may be too small.
What kind of SSD are you using? An actual SATA/PATA SSD? Or something with a bridge IC?
need at least 64GB.

Also, how did you run the recovery image? may have to burn it to a CD and boot it.

Hi squadchanel

with iAleks's file, the os boot normaly without problem, but the scope keepping crash like that, i will go out and buy another SSD/HDD then try it again. It could also be because my drive has too little capacity.I use the SSD directly without going through any adapter, meaning it is attached directly to the sata port on the device.

The file you gave me was backed up from Acronis software, I used that software to burn to my ssd.

Are you booting directly from an recovery image?
you are not trying to create an acronis bootable disk or something and load it from there?

ill chime one last time  for sprit   bruh

i gave you links for a long thread where you could find many drivers, i posted and others have posted them,

the best scenarios where  :

install os from scratch,  after  nvram reconfigurations, if you see vxwork   ticking message at the end, and do answer all device manager errors,  and finally  install tek scope,

if the pc side is not ok   scope will always crash

a 16gb drive can work    the originals where around 30 gb and almost half empty

stop being stubborn,  and do some read,  you had answers for a long time  ...

good luck  bruh
