There is an tl866 thread here,  post in that section : https://www.eevblog.com/forum/blog/eevblog-411-minipro-tl866-universal-programmer-review/1400/

If you dont say the part number  you wont get much help ?

Or find someone near you with a better / more powerful programmer to help you ?

I don't think TL866 supports any NAND FLASH devices, just some parallel FLASH which is very different interface.

Maybe you need a NAND FLASH programmer like the GQ-5X.
It's quirky but gets the job done. Annoying software registration procedure. No documentation!

Is there any possibility of converting UPG files to BIN with software while keeping the TL 866 ?? :palm:

You did not tell us your part number,  this discution is slightly going nowhere,  if your part is not lised in the supported device list   IT wont do anything for you ?

If it is a NAND flash, then it's not supported. Nothing you can do, but to buy a new version of the programmer (TL866II plus).

The fact that the file is an UPG file doesn't really tell us anything. It could be a binary file ready to be programmed to the memory, a compressed archive, containing several files, an encrypted file etc.

My guess is that you ave a bricked device and you want to directly update the flash with the firmware.

Alexander.

He will surely report back something ?  a part number ?

@firewalker said,  i never saw an upg file extension for nand devices, it may be an upgrade file for the system using the nand, a firmware file containing others files  etc... ??

Hello; ok, I checked well; it's a TL866CS, so; I could not reprogram it. I will buy another one. I am thinking of an RT809H; could someone tell me if he corrects the software of the memory of a corrupted tv to reprogram it without having to ask the manufacturer of the brand (very difficult, see impossible!) ???? Thanks for your help

Once again : will you give us the part number of your nand   or it an huge secret,  you ask help and give nothing ?  If not do your own search ?

Even  badly firmware updated originals tl866a or the tl866cs can be recovered to a certain point on  32 bit pc's.  You have in the tl866 forum tools to convert the model, backup the firmware or reprogramm it

Hello, model: TL866CS (zip code: 570311); installed nand: NAND512W3A (TSOP48); memory mounted on a TV SONY KDL-32S5600 deprogrammed (led flashes 3 times in red). This programmer should not be able to correct a corrupted software as is the case for the RT809H? I am waiting for confirmation :scared:

The RT809H  will program it with an adapter dil 48 to tsop, you have an rt809h kit with lots of adapters, it can go as high as 390$  start at 120$

Official link : https://www.hklrf.com

The TNM 5000 will do too

An Elnec Beeprog+ Beeprog 2c  ... will do

But all programmers will need the tsop adapter, you have the cheap ones and the good one can go up to 150$

You just had to read the supported devices list
or any programmer supported device list ?

Just dont know why people are so stubborn with the tl866, its a cheap programmer who wont read and program everything,  peoples ask without checking first ... the MiniProg sorftware run in demo mode.

Good evening; big advantage with the RT809H is that it can program and play the contents of a tv without the memory is unsoldered! Another strong point: it can correct the defective sectors of a failed update and then reprogram the memory ?? Which programmer is he as effective and efficient as this one ??? ;)

hklrf  isn't the orig mfg, of RT809H
also it's price fluctuates dramatically , before US blk friday 2018, it was half the price.  They increase prices on US holidays

there another co claiming its the original,

also there Shenzhen hklrf

anyone knows the genuine mfg?
