Toby guitar amplifiers
« on: August 25, 2023, 02:43:56 pm »
Back in the 1960's there were some guitar amplifiers made in Texas (Toby Speakers are an offshoot of that company) and information about the repair of them is really hard to find. If there are any of the (likely) older folks that have any information or suggestions I would appreciate hearing it. Yes, we've tried contacting Toby Speakers but to the best of their knowledge none of the info about the amps was kept after the original owner died and the amp production ended. After 50-60 years and previous attempts at repairs board level diagnosis is tough. BTW, these are solid state amps not tube type.

Mm.  If it's important enough, reverse engineer a schematic.  Most guitar-oriented devices are not excessively complex.  It will be tedious and time consuming.  When you're done, you'll know the thing by heart!
