LCD screen identification
« on: September 30, 2020, 04:08:27 am »
Trying to fix a lcd screen that goes to a air pump.  I pulled the board out and de-soldered the broken lcd screen.  1078482-01078486-1

I searched a bit on digikey but couldnt find anything that matched.

Hum, I'd say its custom.

When the display is on, does it has specific symbols for this device? Is yes, its custom any probably will not be easy to find as spare

Agreed. Most likely to be custom.

Did it display graphics or was it just a collection of static symbols? It might be trivial to adapt the signals going to the original display and use that to control a modern graphical TFT or OLED.

This is the pump:
https://www.amazon.com/OutdoorMaster-20PSI-High-Pressure-Shark/dp/B07QXSM5RG

Stermay makes the internals, they make all kinds of little electric pumps.
OutdoorMaster just puts it in their form factor and colors I would guess.

I never saw it running.  I bought it for my girlfriend and she had it for about a week.  I got into her car and back the drivers seat up and squished the face of it  :palm:

From looking online and other videos all it shows is four digits and then PSI.  The window for the display is curved so the LCD displays the output slightly curved which is the only thing "special" I can see.  Back of the LCD board is a TM1722

You might be able to trace at least the pins on the unbroken side by looking at the LCD carefully, at the right angle. If it's just 4 7-segment digits, it shouldn't be difficult to cobble up a substitute.
Can you take a picture of the back of the board?

Thanks for the info.  I'll post more when it gets cold.  I put it back together already so the lady can use the pump while she can before winter comes.  I can operate it good enough without the lcd for now.  It will be a good winter project.
