TP-Link HS110 smart plug flash
« on: September 17, 2020, 09:56:40 am »
Hey everyone. I've been trying to repair a faulty HS110 smart plug. It seems to be a quite pupular and hackabe unit. Unfortunately those devices seem to develop a fault after a while. The status LED stays amber all the time which indicates the unit is still booting. It is not responding to the factory reset button. After poking around the UART interface I've noticed that the device is stuck in some sort of a boot loop. I wanted to dump the flash memory to verify that it's not corrupted. Somehow I've managed to damage the flash chip in the process. Is there anoyone who's been poking anound those devices and is willing to try to make a dump for me? It appears that the only way to do it is to desolder the chip and read it using a programmer.
