Trying to identify connector pin/crimp type
« on: October 08, 2016, 03:09:54 pm »
Hi all,

i'm trying to redo the wiring on a connector from a headunit of mine and was wondering if anyone could identify this pin/crimp type it has a single latching part on the top, all i've found so far online has a latch either side.

thanks, Lee

Could you post a picture of the housing it came from? It reminds me of a JST or Molex crimp, but it is not quite the one I am thinking.

If you are trying to replace it, then you may have a problem as this will require a special crimp tool to crimp correctly. some people claim that pliers can be used but you will never get a good crimp with those. Soldering can be done, but the crimp then has to be cut down so it fits into the housing

I figured the housing itself was probably bespoke for the headunit but hoped the connector pins wouldn't be.  Soldering would be fine and i'll just trim carefully.
