Trying to identify some components - blind controller
« on: August 31, 2022, 01:35:29 am »
I am in the process of debugging and repairing a failed Acmeda blind controller.

I am having difficulty identifying a couple of the components and was looking for help.

One is marked as a BA6H17 and looks like it is some sort of dual Triac/SCR/FET/solid state switch.  The branding is an "A" inside a ring (looks like the Avengers logo). . Found this one : http://www.aosmd.com/pdfs/datasheet/AOD609.pdf

The other is a Diode (probably a back to back diode) marked as BM1627 with a "Ty" branding

Both are on the DC motor side of the controller.

I have included a photo

thanks
Matt

BM = MSMP15A, SMAJ15A -> 15V unidirectional TVS diode

https://www.vishay.com/docs/89457/mspm6a.pdf
https://m.littelfuse.com/~/media/electronics/datasheets/tvs_diodes/littelfuse_tvs_diode_smaj_datasheet.pdf.pdf

http://www.smdmark.com/en-US/search/code?id=bm

More precisely it should be SMAJ15CA (bi-directional).

I see that there is no polarity stripe, but the marking code for the bidirectional version is "XM". Of course the marking could be different for this "Ty" part, though.

Yes you are right, I was just looking at the wrong column in the table!  |O

It does look to me like the diode is bidirectional. :-?

It's really confusing, maybe it's the flux, maybe it's the angle of the light, maybe the manufacturer indicates polarity with the direction of the text ...  :-//

---

I found a Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer under the brand name "TY", they do make TVS products, but no technical documentation is published.

The diode is bi-directional as the DC across it will swap in polarity to send the motor forward or in reverse.
