Trying to identify this part of a server motherboard
« on: August 31, 2023, 09:02:08 am »
Hi,

wondering if anyone can help identifying this part off a server motherboard - the motherboard is an Asrock Rack D1541D4U-2T8R. The part is circled in red.

Thanks

It looks like it could be a Torex chip of some kind.  They use 5C in a lot of their codes.  It's hard to tell from that photo - are there 8 pins or more on the other sides?  Could you also show a photo without that circle so we can better see the surrounding components?  Could be a charge pump maybe (Torex XC9801?)

Awesome, thank you very much for this, 1 more question, all of richtek chips on my board are labelled 29 5c, B1Z. If i was to replace the damaged chip with a new one & the markings/labels are different, would it matter?

Thanks again

Only the "29" is important. The other markings are date/batch codes.
