TV power connector repair
« on: December 14, 2018, 11:34:29 pm »
Hey,

I'm attempting to repair my parents TV at the moment, there's a physical connector issue with the DC jack I think as I can hear it crackling and it's very sensitive to movement of the power supply.

It's not a normal socket however, I think it's a 7mm female socket, PCB mount, however it's vertically mounted on the PCB (see attached for photo). I've been unable to locate a replacement component from my usual list (rapid, rs, farnell) however I assume I don't know the magic words to put in the search! Does anyone know where I could source a (UK preferred) replacement socket?

The TV in question is an LG 29MT31S if that's of any use.

Thanks,
Rob

Seems the good one ?

Maybe take some rings diameters and inside hole measurements and ask the seller ?

Yeah definitely looks like it; I've ordered some. I was hoping they'd be standard so I could source them from somewhere UK based. I guess that's just not the way things are built these days :(
