Ultrasonic washing tank transducer problem
« on: February 23, 2022, 03:28:50 pm »
Hello everybody! My name is Andrea, I write from Italy and I am a new member of this wonderful forum. Passionate about electronics since I was a child, over the years I have equipped my small hobby laboratory. I thank the administrator for admitting me, I always follow his videos from which I draw inspiration and new information. I open this Topic for a failure of an ultrasonic cleaning tank. Unfortunately, one of the two piezzielectric disc transducers has been destroyed and cannot be supplied by assistance because it is out of production and cannot be repaired. The model is Soltec Sonica 2200eth S2. On this occasion I used a cad program, KiCad, for the first time to draw the driver scheme, unfortunately the pilot circuit is in the resin and has only access to the frequency regulation. Forgive me for any mistakes. Can someone help me understand what changes are needed to mount the sandwich drivers or adjust to make it work with only the driver left. Thanks to those who respond.

ZD1 appears to be drawn with the wrong polarity.

Peizo disks are widely available and cheap. It might be easy to replace the blown out one.

;D True I missed it!  |O Thank you!  :-+ it is the first time that I have done a reverse enginering drawing with CAD. I was wrong to report on the drawing. On the PCB it is actually in antiparallel configuration. I should have removed it to read the voltage that is written on the bottom.

Unfortunately I only know that it is 7000pF, 50mm in diameter, black material therefore pz4, and that the generator power declared by the tank manufacturer is 520wP.P. and 260w max. Probably the output voltage is 190VRMS and the frequency 45kHz. I should ask the manufacturer if he gives me the data of the transducer. I have seen that in the USA they are more easily found but the shipping costs are very high about 75 €.
