Unhnown part
« on: October 14, 2020, 08:37:44 am »
Hi all
The doubt is in the photo. This is a TO220 package
This component is impossible to find. Already googled with various combinations and nothing. I am in doubt between a triac or a thyristor because it belongs to the speed variator of a jigsaw AEG BSPE100X that has since stopped working.
Every help is welcome.

I found this parts list and exploded diagram:

https://www.wmv-dresden.de/documents/AEG-AtlasCopco/bspe_100_x_erz_4000341719_stichsaege_atlas_copco.pdf

It is dated 1998, so I'm wondering whether "9331" is a YYWW date code, ie week 31 of 1993. Otherwise, could "637" be a YWW date code, ie week 37 of 1996?

Thanks for the mechanical diagram.
It corresponds to my machine but my doubt persists.
I need to replace that to220 (?) to get the machine up and running.
Thank you very much.

could be a triac with an diac near it,  a thyristor is a one way device

does it have a speed control ?  is it on a pcb ?    its the # 141  device ?  show us a photo of the pcb

Photo will not be possible at the moment, but I found an unfinished 2011 reversing that will give you an idea of the control board and its schematic.
This circuit is very simple and has no diac. I don't know if T1 can't be a thyristor because I've seen I don't know where a half wave pulse control and the other half is to measure the motor response and adapt the torque accordingly. Another issue is the existence of three connections with the engine when only two were needed in most circuits with triac.

thank you

Likely a combined triac and diac, where the diac is inside the case, saving board space. You can replace it with a regular triac and insert a diac in the gate lead, though you will have to use a triac with an insulated case, so the heatsink is not at one of the mains terminal voltage.

Doktor Pita:
I knew I had seen this somewhere before ...

SeanB:
this is a good suggestion. I will try

Thank you both

Hi all
It's time for a bench update: I tried replacing T1 in three different configurations and none gave the expected results
1 As SeanB suggested, I used a TIC206M triac (A1, A2, G) with the gate connected to the pcb with a diac .... nothing nor a simple push.

2 Only one TIC206M triac (A1, A2, G) worked almost perfectly in the middle range of the R2 trimmer (high speed) but for the other half it was sobbing;

3 With a Thyristor TIC126 (K, A, G), it worked in part of the trimmer range but the speed was low and the rotation was irregular.
Given these data, is will be a good option go back to the bench and change triac pins position 1 and 2 on the board to A2, A1?

Any ideas ??
