UNI-T UTD2042C DSO Screen not working
« on: April 08, 2021, 09:31:49 am »
Hey everyone,

I currently have trouble with my UNI-T DSO. I used it a few days ago now and during operation, the screen turned completely white. Reboot didn't help.
On reboot, the DSO still makes all boot-up procedures, you can hear the relais clicking. The buttons also respond (judged by color-change and expected relais-clicking sound), so I'm confident that only the screen is affected and the rest is still operational.

I took it apart and did my basic troubleshooting-step of reseating the LCD cable, also cleaning the inside from dust. Nothing changed, still white screen.
LCD cable does not look broken and doesn't have a kink or sharp bend in it. I can't confirm data transfer since my oscilloscope currently does not have a working screen...

Has anyone an idea where and how I can look for a fault? I have a DMM available at hand for troubleshooting, nothing more...

And no, I can't send it to the supplier for repair. I got the DSO a few years ago second-hand with the warranty seal already broken.

Best regards

Synthron

soo... I tried searching for other faults, but without another oscilloscope, debugging might become hard...

has anyone else any suggestions what I could try to fix it?
