Unstable LCD image

Hi,

I have a LCD panel connected to a display controller which has a really unstable image.  As I cannot see a way of attaching a video here, I've put it up on vimeo here

I've tried re-seating the rear connector and have the controller connected to a 12v 22A PSU so there is more than enough power. 

The problems are the same if I try the HDMI or DVI connectors and I've tried a number of different equipment all with differing severity of instability.  The LCD panel came from a working laptop.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on here and whether it is worth pursuing any further???
