| UT 161 B selector |
| (1/1) |
| mzdenkov:
Hello I've dissembled my UT multimeter and i saw a half broken "leaf spring contact"(or how are they called) on its selector . Is this normal or? Because when i look at it, this is a defect, but i stand to be proved wrong. Ive contacted the store where i bought it, but they say this is ok. Best Regards |

Good Morning Mzdenkov, If you can return it, do so; don't believe the store telling you it is 'OK', it's not. It might work for a while, but it flexes as you turn the selector knob, and will eventually break at the end opposite the current break, (I believe). |

I had a conversation with the service people. They told me that they've dissembled another NEW unit and compared it to mine, and they saw the same symptoms... So their conclusion was: "this is how manufacturer wanted it to be for better springiness of the contact" - rough translation. + if i disassemble it again ill lose my warranty. Its like fighting with a wall when you talk to this people, so ill try to solder it together because i know it will break after 1year of use which is outside of warranty period. Basically 70€ trowed in the drain. Thanks for your answers. |
