UT136 multimeter
« on: October 27, 2014, 08:21:46 pm »
Hi Guys I have a UT136 multimeter and when I tried it's frequency option showed no readings. :(
Is there a way to fix this? Can I hook up this frequency meter to the 240v ac mains to check frequency and check if this meter works?
Thanks

If you don't have a signal generator, you can generate a 1KHz tone on a PC (google it) and measure it at the back of a speaker. The signal needs to be greater than 600mV rms and lower than 10V rms.

Make sure you have leads in the correct hole and are on the correct setting.

UT136 manual says

Never input higher than 10V rms for test frequency and duty cycle.

Did you measure the signal voltage on the AC setting?
