UTI-8N05 replacement
« on: March 28, 2021, 06:25:17 pm »
This little bastard  looks and fits like an ordinary  thermistor..

Uncle google could not find a single reference for UTI.

From the common sense these codes 8N 05
usually indicate the steady state rating and package..

Unsure if an ordinary 3A or 5A  would fit this bastard...

Anyone familiar with UTI ?  ::)

Thanks
Paul

Really? But I found plenty of results for Urinary Tract Infections!  :-DD
For reals though, judging by the markings, it's most likely a 5 ohm one (I'd imagine 5D-9 would be compatible)
Have you tried testing it with a multimeter? Also, could you specify what product/model number the circuit board belongs to? I might be able to find the parts lit/schematic for it.

See these videos btw:

Lucky me asking uncle goo "thermistor UTI 8N05" ...  :-DD

So he spared me these nasty contagious infections...
I am sure their "artificial intel" is very educative...
sure there is modern geek python code...   ::)

My drama is that this little bastard reads 4 Ohms.

Any 5D-9 reads at least 5 or 5.5  Ohm..

Whatever..  5D-9  already there..  my other options
are way bigger like 3 Ohm ...

Thanks passing by for the laugh

Should be 8mm diameter and 5 ohm nominal resistance at 25oC. Should be similar to WTR08D050M http://www.es.co.th/Schemetic/PDF/WTR-SERIES.PDF. 4 Ohm resistance most likely is within tolerance, although borderline.

Thanks..  the bastard is clearly toasted..
is causing inrushs and start problems..

I can't trust the 4 Ohm reading..

5D-9 for now at least is not causing the nasty inrushs
