Hi all,
I have 2 KRK 6's that have been in storage for a few years. Just fired them up and one is working but the other has no output on the woofer. The tweeter is OK.
I've tried to scrape of the blank gunk as best as I can but I'm not sure if the problem is related or not. What I've found is that the resistance between the + and - on the woofer outputs is consistently 2.5m on the good one. However on the bad one, each time I touch the probes against the outputs it changes from about 30k to 2.5m alternating each time.
I suspected the main caps (the 3300uf and 1000uf ones) but with those removed, the behaviour is the same.
It very strange, I can only think the small voltage from the probe is changing something.
The fault is definitely on the power board as the rest of the speaker works fine with the known good board swapped in.
thanks
