Time for round 2 with this thing, I fixed my 30V2A, 250V0.25A and 60V1A(dual).

Now I have one working DCS33-33 and a broken one. Gonna try this before I try that demented HP mini function generator and the microwave LNA.

The original problem was that it got stuck at 16V. Now it will likely blow up if I replace the fuse. But I have a new bag of tricks, now that I got the anger out of my system.

By the way if you have old MTA connectors give all the wires a good prod pushing them into the connector as the first thing to trouble shoot. This was the problem with my 250V sorensen unit. IDC = shady. It can probe fine with a little bit of force but then come right back out when you stop probing it, so you must disconnect the cables and probe them on the end when they are in the correct orientation or probe on the other PCB with they are connected, this seems rare on most other connectors. I expect this unit to kick my ass. There is a good reason why its $150 on ebay for a kW research grade supply. I am going to solder single conductor push pin connectors so I can disconnect any transformers without soldering

Also, with the lower power models, the transformer is not the only source of noise. When I replaced the capacitors on the 30 and 60V units, the buzz they were making went away. Also, the way the transformer is soldered to the board can cause the wire to break with only a little bit of fiddling, it is single strand, they did not use a distribution block to connect the magnet wire to a proper distribution wire, they route the magnet wire to the PCB directly   :palm:

adventure awaits
