Apparently I should hope someone knows the difference between 3rd order, and 3 way crossover. Not sure why that would even come up. You can look at the 2 way designs and see nothing but inductors in series, and capacitors in parallel with woofers as well. The series capacitor is a very unique design, and difficult to find. Nothing more, nothing less. No argument, even if you want it.

That came up because I was wondering why your google image search for "3 way crossover design" would fit with:

Spent a few minutes trying to find at least ONE other Xover Ckt. that uses SERIES capacitors. Nope.

See if you can find something besides KEF...

Not least because 3rd-order bass loading is generally reserved for small 2-way systems.

So naturally, I assumed you meant to search for "3rd-order bass tuning" or some variant thereof - that's the only way your words quoted above made sense in the context of the conversation. So not criticism; just clarification - mostly for the benefit of others who might be reading (it is a public forum after all).

Assumptions never quite work out. :palm: I wasn't looking for anything more than Woofer SERIES capacitors in ANY crossover design,  2 way, 3 way, or even 4 way etc. If I'd searched on 3rd order designs, that might have been ALL I pulled up. In GENERAL most LF Xovers do not use series capacitors. That was the assumption I was using. These series caps are the exception, not the rule. :=\
