I've got one which works, but when I run the self calibration says ERR OFSTGAIN.
The service manual says check motherboard, phase board and output board.  Gee,
thanks for narrowing it down Wavetek!  Anyone have one of these beasts or repaired
this error?

Start by checking all electrolitic capacitors on the main board.
Check for fluids leaking out of them or discolored PCB near a cap.

I have seen PCB tracks damaged by the stuff that leaks out of them.

There have been capacitors that have a very limited lifetime.
Even 10 year old Tektronix scopes quit due to capacitors leaking and loosing theyre capacity.
Also shorted tantalums are a problem.
Why spend money I don't have on things I don't need to impress people I don't like?
